Fleville castle boasts, without contest, one of the most beautiful ” parc agricole et paysager” of the 19th century. Being the work of Paul de Choulot in 1852, it is classified among Historical Monuments as a park from the romantic era.
The “remarquable garden” of Fleville is also well known. It is located on the site of the old melon field. Together this creates a beautiful environment for this Renaissance residence which is often compared to Azay-le-Rideau.
Fléville was built around the remains of a 1320 feudal castle and the original keep is still there. It was completed in Renaissance style in the 16th century. Visitors may view the great Heraldic room, King Stanislas’ apartment and a suite of comfortable, intimate rooms. Just 10 minutes from Nancy, the château is in an exceptional setting in a themed garden and nearby, a Listed National Heritage park.
The château garden, like the park, is a National Heritage garden and was created in the 18th century by a pupil of Lenôtre. It is a magnificent setting for a Lorraine Renaissance jewel.
